Girlfriend of GM Recites “Star & Crescent”… Flawlessly

The Star & Crescent shall not be worn by every man…” — A phrase heard and recited by Kappa Sigma brothers around the world. But not last Saturday night. As her name was called out in the banquet hall of Maggiano’s Little Italy, Alyssa Gugliotti, girlfriend of GM Lyle Stevens, walked poised and confident (not unusual for Alyssa) to the podium where she took hold of the microphone and [flawlessly] performed “The Star & Crescent”.

A cap off to a great weekend of networking and catching-up at Fenway; pickup football; and a celebratory banquet–this display of diligence and commitment from a non-brother really was sobering, and like one of Alyssa’s fellow Delta Zeta’s before her, Amy P, I think the coveted “Xi Beta Brother of the Year” award is in her future. Great job, Alyssa!

Happy Founder’s Day, Brothers!

 

On this day in 1995, 19 friends became 19 friends & brothers of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Northeastern University.  This small group of diverse men has grown to the membership of well over 200 undergraduates and alumni that we know today.  A lot has changed over these 14 years, and Xi Beta has gone from a small, unknown chapter in New England, to one of the top three in the country.  Be proud, brothers, and although things may be different from your days as an undergrad, one thing stays constant—always constant—Kappa Sigma.

Xi Beta Founder’s Day Weekend

Come join fellow alumni and undergraduate brothers in celebrating the 14th anniversary year of Xi Beta’s founding. Dig up the Kappa Sigma stories that have morphed into great memories, and get ready to add some new ones!

Friday the 13th kicks things off with a trolley-car pub crawl through beantown, followed up by a pickup football game and dinner on Saturday the 14th. A detailed list of events can be found below:

Friday March 13th, 2009
8:00pm Meet and greet for food @ Game On (Fenway, Boaton)
9:30 Pub crawl (Departing from Game On)

Saturday March 14th, 2009
1:00pm Alumni vs. Undergrad football @ Carter Field (Columbus Ave, Boston)
6:30pm Maggiano’s cocktail hour @ Maggiano’s Little Italy
7:30pm Xi Beta Founder’s Day banquet

The suggested minimum donation for the weekend is $50 for individuals or $100 a couple. To RSVP please send an email to ksxbalumni@gmail.com by no later than February 27th.  Whether you can only attend one event or the whole weekend, let us know!
